Security Architect

Location: Winnipeg, MB

The Security Architect will be responsible for designing and delivering high-quality security solutions that meet the organization's needs. The Security Architect will work closely with application teams to guide them on security architectur e, identify business requirements, and design solutions that align with the organization's overall security strategy and vision. The Security Architect will play a key role in supporting the implementation of these solutions by collaborating with development teams to ensure that the technical implementation aligns with the design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design high-quality security solutions that meet the organization's needs;
  • Collaborate with application teams to guide them on security architecture, identify business requirements, and design solutions that align with the organization's overa ll security strategy and vision;
  • Support the implementation of solutions by collaborating with development teams to ensure that the technical implementation aligns with the design;
  • Conduct security reviews to ensure that the solutions are secure and aligned with securi ty standards and best practices;
  • Mentor application teams and provide technical guidance as needed;
  • Ensure that security solutions are scalable, reliable, and maintainable; and
  • Stay up-to-date with security technology trends and recommend changes to the organization's overall security strategy and technology stack as needed.

Minimum Relevant Experience

  • Seven (7) years of relevant work experience with a minimum of three (3) years designing security solutions.

Preferred Skills

  • Security architecture and design principles;
  • Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, ISO, and CIS;
  • Experience with security controls and best practices, such as identity and access management (IAM), network security, data protection, encryption, and incident response;
  • Experience with cloud security, including knowledge of cloud service providers' security features and controls;
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps and how to integrate security into the software development life cycle (SDLC);
  • Knowledge of security compliance requirements such as HIPAA, PCI, and GDPR; and
  • Experience with security and compliance frameworks, such as ISO 27001 or PCI DSS.

The Security Architect should have e xperience in security modernization and migration and be able to provide expertise in these areas. The Security Architect should also have experience working in hybrid cloud environments and be able to design security solutions that work across on-premises and cloud environments.

In addition to the technical skills required for the role, the Security Architect should possess strong leadership and project management skills. The Security Architect will be responsible for leading and managing the security architecture and design of software solutions, as well as overseeing the implementation. The Security Architect will have a proven track record of designing and delivering high-quality security solutions that align with the organization's overall security strategy and vision.

Overall, the WCB is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Architect who can d rive the security modernization of the WCB's applications and help the WCB maintain a secure environment. The Security Architect should have experience with security architecture and design principles, security frameworks, and security controls and best pr actices. Strong leadership and project m anagement skills are also an asset, as is the ability to collaborate effectively with application teams and mentor team members.
